I am currently studying to become a medical transcriptionist. I've utilized and compared numerous different medical dictionaries: Dorland's, Taber's, Stedman's, Merriam-Webster's Medical Desk Dictionary, and now Mosby's. Mosby's is an exceptionally fine reference work, and is always accessed first when I need to make an inquiry. Dorland's has the broadest field of definitions, but they have an irritating substition for what have become standard pronunciation guidelines in most collegiate dictionaries. Mosby's pronunciation guidelines mirror the superior trend set by the Merriam-Webster dictionaries, whether medical or standard collegiate. In addition, the Mosby's reference is littered with full-color photographs, illustrations, and useful appendix-type system review supplements in the introduction that provide a more visceral grasp of the subject matter. Like the AMA's 'Encyclopedia of Medicine,' the graphic nature of the text can be alarming, but is appropriate considering the gravity of the material presented. It is priced very reasonably. I keep my Dorland's accessible in case I can't find what I need, but I haven't had to seriously use it. Like the yellow pages, the Mosby's dictionary is 'the one that gets used'!

I bought Mosby's because it's easy to read and look up medical terms. I'm learning the language and this book is formatted for easy readability. The numerous illustrations are all in color which I found informative. It's definitely a user-friendly dictionary.

I have designated book reading times only a few times a week. So if I'm really into a book, it will go all over this little island. Mother Kirk must have graced the presence of my barber, dentist and several relatives. Jam-packed with wisdom and filled with many quotables throughout, this book will challenge Evangelicals to reassess their practices (the appendix's 32 questions for elders and wives would be very helpful if church's had the spine to implement such a needed and biblical screening) and more importantly their identity.

I found myself almost cheering out loud in chapters 2- Reformational Identity and 4- Thunder of the Word. I also found myself taking special notice of the chapter on the sacraments. Compelling arguments for the use of leavened bread and of course real wine. Loved the part on baptized children partaking communion. Also enjoyed the chapter on the Sabbath.

If you are satisfied with living out a convenienced, mundane, 9-5, unionized Christianity (AS-IF! but sadly some are), don't read this book. If you are a Christian who thirsts for more and more, get this book right away. You will be provoked to reevaluate your, your church's and evangelicalism's current status. You'll then be provoked to forward the cause of Christ. Fired me up.

One of Wilson's best. Covers many aspects of theology of the church to starting a literature ministry

This book certainly lives up to its name. It is, indeed, an "all-Canadian" guide to everything related to conception, pregnancy, and birth. The book is packed with all kinds of need-to-know information that American pregnancy books simply don't deliver, like the specifics on Canada's new extended parental leave benefits, detailed information on prenatal testing regimes in Canada (e.g., maternal serum screening), and directories of Canadian organizations, web sites, etc. The book was recommended to me by both my family doctor and my childbirth class instructor and I received two copies of this book from different friends the moment I announced my pregnancy. Clearly, I'm not the only one who likes this book!

As an expecting couple in canada this is the book to own. Its well written and gives you all the canadian facts. Our system and the american system are different and most books are geared to the american system leaving all the the hospital and ins information useless. This book has all the facts and more.
I highly recommend it to expecting canadian couples.

I have had this book since I was a child and I recently found it and read it to my 2 1/2 year old son. He loved it! It has now become his favorite book. I think I can recite the whole thing by heart. I would definately recommend this book to anyone with children or adults too. I am now going to find more Mr. Men books for our collection. They are timeless and someday my son will have them for his kids.

What a fabulous book! I just read it with my eight year old and he loved it and so did I. We just got introduced to the Mr. and Miss books by my son's teacher. We read this together and both laughed. Mr. Forgetful forgets everything. He is walking along when a police officer asks Mr. Forgetful to deliver a message to the farmer saying his cow is in the lane. Poor Mr. Forgetful tries so hard to remember. He walks to the farmer's house repeating to himself, "A cow is in the lane. A cow is in the lane." By the time poor Mr. Forgetful talks to the farmer, all he can remember is, "A goose is in the rain." It's a fun, light hearted book. Read them all. The adults like them too.

Mr Greedy tells the sad tale of a man who can't stop eating. Try as he might, he wants to eat everything in sight. Will Mr Greedy be able to cut back on his eating? Or will his greediness be the end of Mr Greedy? Read it and see!

Mr Greedy, along with Mr. Strong, is undoubtedly the top title in these books by Roger Hargreaves. As Sir Jonathan Hawkins MBE OBE Phd MP Esq. so eliquently put it "Roger Hargreaves is the ultimate children's writer and is a real aid to the little children that I so dearly love", and so the same can be said for all of us! In fact, as he is also a lecturer in child studies at Cambridge University, one of his students (who also happens to be his son, Jonathan Hawkins Jnr.) said that this set of books could be seen as a metaphor for the unpredictable upbringing of many children in our topsy-turvy society. The Mr. Men titles are a must read for all children, make sure that Mr. Greedy is part of your collection!! Mr. Greedy is about one particular character who cannot stop his eating habits, his friends try in various amusing ways to help their buddy out!

Mr. Bumble, the endearing character in this beautifully told story, tickles my young readers. With its classic charm and beautiful illustrations, it has become the most requested book in my house for story-telling!

Anyone who has ever bumbled in life will love this book! A perfect marriage between text and illustration, MR. BUMBLE teaches us all about overcoming life's obstacles and the unexpected friends we meet along the way. My six year old absolutely loves this book!

Mr. Bond's wonderful book not only enlightens the reader to many fascinating biographies of the fathers and mothers of our hymnal, but tells a story in an interesting way in order to even keep the interest of young children. I highly recommend it to all, young and old, especially to be placed in a homeschool study. It is refreshing to see a book that tells the story of the important history of our church that has been so lacking before, especially in a children's book form. I highly commend Mr. Bond for his work.

For several years we've memorized hymns as a family, so when I found this book I was ecstatic. We're reading it a chapter a month and learning one of the hymns that goes with each story. It's obvious that an amazing amount of research went into this book, but somehow it doesn't feel as though the information is being stuffed into you. The stories become real. I look forward to reading the second one in the series, and hope to see others in the future. *note--the book includes lyrics and music for many of the hymns. I don't play an instrument, so we've learned some of the tunes from the Cyber Hymnal, another resource well worth checking out!

This is a wonderful story of Maryland's Eastern Shore humor. The setting starts in the town of Oxford, MD where a few of the locals put their heads together and come up with their own specially-designed boat with local flare to enter the world-famous America's Cup Race in Perth. The result is a hilarious. All sailing advocates should read this wonderful story! And, for anyone from the eastern shore, some of the characters just might sound a little familiar...

I may not be an impartial reviewer. I first met Douglas A. Martin in 1995 at Lollapalooza, in Atlanta, where we were both performing in the Spoken Word sideshow. He's an extraordinary poet and the poems in this collection are some of my favorites. They're charged, atmospheric, confessional, evocative, direct, funny, tragic.
